About
v0 is an AI app and UI builder made by Vercel, the company behind the Next.js framework. Vercel was founded in 2015 as ZEIT, and v0 launched in 2023. The product now lives at v0.app.
Designers and developers use v0 to turn prompts, screenshots or mock-ups into production-ready React interfaces and full-stack Next.js apps. Its biggest strength is its tight connection to Vercel hosting, which makes deploying generated projects very fast.
As of October 2026, v0 has a Free plan with $5 of monthly credits, Plus at $30 per user per month, Business at $100 per user per month and Enterprise pricing. The older $20 Premium plan is being phased out and is closed to new users. Credits are consumed based on token usage, and Vercel hosting is billed separately for production use.
Features and integrations
-
Prompt and Image to UI: Generate interfaces from text prompts, screenshots or design images, using React, Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui components.
-
Full-Stack Next.js Apps: v0 can build complete Next.js applications, not just individual components.
-
Design Mode: Make visual edits to the generated interface without writing prompts for every change.
-
One-Click Vercel Deployment: Deploy projects directly to Vercel hosting with previews and custom domains.
-
GitHub Sync: Sync generated code to GitHub so teams can continue development in their own workflow.
-
Model Options: Choose between v0's own models at different speed and quality levels, each billed at its own credit rate.
Pros and cons
Pros
- High-quality React output: Generated interfaces follow modern React and Next.js conventions.
- Seamless Vercel deployment: Projects can go live in a click on Vercel's hosting platform.
- Image-to-code: Screenshots and mock-ups can be turned into working components.
- Free plan to start: Monthly free credits let users test the product before paying.
Cons
- Higher entry price for new users: With Premium closed, new paid users start at $30 per user per month.
- Tied to the Vercel ecosystem: v0 works best with Next.js and Vercel, which suits some teams more than others.
- Credits expire: Unused credits roll over only briefly, so prepaid usage can be lost.
