About
Replit is a cloud development platform founded in 2016. It lets people write, run and host software entirely in the browser, and its Replit Agent can build full applications from a plain-language description, including the database, hosting and deployment.
Replit is used by non-technical founders building prototypes, students learning to code and developers who want a quick environment without local setup. The Agent can create an app, fix errors, add features and publish it to the web from one workspace.
As of October 2026, Replit has a free Starter plan with limited Agent use, Core at $25 a month or $20 a month billed annually with included usage credits, and Pro at $100 a month for up to 15 builders, plus Enterprise pricing. Agent work, compute and deployments draw on credits, so heavy use can cost more than the base price.
Features and integrations

Pros and cons
Pros
- Everything in one place: Coding, AI building, hosting and databases live in a single platform.
- Great for non-developers: The Agent can turn an idea into a working app without the user writing code.
- No local setup: Projects run in the browser, which removes installation and configuration hurdles.
- Instant sharing: Apps can be deployed and shared with a link in minutes.
Cons
- Effort-based costs can surprise: Agent work and deployments use credits, and some users report bills far above the plan price.
- Less control than local development: Experienced developers may find the hosted environment limiting for complex projects.
- Quality varies on large apps: The Agent can struggle or loop on complex changes, which wastes credits.
