Superset
About
Superset is an AI-powered integrated development environment (IDE) that helps developers run and manage multiple AI coding agents in parallel. Instead of switching between several terminals or AI tools, developers can organize all their coding agents in one workspace. Each task runs inside its own isolated Git worktree, allowing engineers to build features, fix bugs, review code, and test ideas simultaneously without interfering with each other.
Features and integrations
-
Parallel AI Coding Agents: Superset allows developers to run more than 100 AI coding agents simultaneously. Each agent works independently, making it possible to develop multiple features, fix bugs, write tests, or experiment with different approaches at the same time. This helps developers complete projects faster without waiting for one AI task to finish before starting another
-
Git Worktree Isolation: Every AI agent runs inside its own Git worktree with a separate branch and environment. This keeps code changes isolated, reduces merge conflicts, and makes it easier to compare different implementations before merging them into the main repository.
-
Desktop App and CLI: Superset provides both a desktop application and a standalone CLI. Developers can launch workspaces, manage projects, automate workflows, and monitor coding agents through either interface. The CLI can also be used in terminal-based workflows and CI environments.
-
Built-in Code Review Tools: The platform includes a built-in diff viewer and terminal, allowing developers to review AI-generated code without leaving the application. Users can compare changes, edit files, and quickly move completed work into their preferred IDE when needed.
-
Team Collaboration: Superset integrates with GitHub, Slack, and Linear to support team collaboration. Developers can create workspaces from issues or messages, manage repositories, and coordinate AI-assisted development without changing their existing workflow.
-
Enterprise Security: Enterprise customers receive advanced security and compliance features, including SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, audit logs, SOC 2 Type II reporting, uptime SLAs, and custom integrations. These capabilities make Superset suitable for organizations with strict security requirements.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Superset improves developer productivity by allowing multiple AI coding agents to work simultaneously. Instead of waiting for one task to finish, developers can complete several coding jobs in parallel, reducing development time for larger projects. GitHub
- Git worktree isolation keeps every coding task separate, reducing merge conflicts and making experimentation safer. Developers can compare different AI-generated solutions before deciding which one to merge into production. GitHub
- The platform works with popular AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex, allowing developers to continue using their preferred AI agents instead of switching to a new ecosystem. GitHub
- Superset offers flexible pricing with Free, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Individual developers can start without cost, while teams can upgrade for collaboration, automation, and enterprise security features. Superset
- Built-in collaboration features and integrations with GitHub, Slack, and Linear help engineering teams manage AI-assisted development using familiar tools and workflows. Superset
- The project is source available under the Elastic License 2.0, allowing developers to inspect, modify, and self-host the software while benefiting from an active open-source community.
Cons
- The Superset CLI is currently in beta, so commands and functionality may change as the product continues to evolve. Developers using automation should expect occasional updates. Superset Documentation
- Windows is not officially supported yet. The desktop application primarily supports macOS, while Linux support is still experimental and Windows support is planned for the future. Superset Documentation
- Advanced features such as SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, audit logs, and dedicated support are only available with the Enterprise plan. Superset
- Superset is designed mainly for developers who use Git and terminal-based AI coding agents. Beginners without Git experience may need time to understand worktrees and parallel workflows. Superset Documentation
- There is currently no supported web dashboard, and the mobile application is still under development, limiting access outside the desktop environment. Superset Documentation
- Early community feedback mentions occasional interface glitches, memory usage concerns, and terminal rendering issues, indicating that the product is still maturing despite rapid development.
