About

Todoist is a task manager created in 2007 by Amir Salihefendić and made by the fully remote company Doist. It is one of the most widely used to-do apps for individuals and small teams.

People use Todoist to capture tasks quickly, organise projects, set reminders and plan their days. Its AI features include Todoist Assist, which breaks vague tasks into steps and helps with filters and emails, and Ramble, which turns spoken thoughts into organised tasks in many languages.

As of October 2026, Todoist has a free Beginner plan, Pro at $7 a month or $5 a month billed annually, and Business at $10 per user a month or $8 billed annually. AI features are included in Pro and Business, with no separate AI add-on. Prices rose in December 2025.

Features and integrations

  • Natural Language Input: Type tasks like you speak, such as every Monday at 9am, and Todoist schedules them.

  • Todoist Assist: AI breaks big tasks into actionable subtasks and helps write filters and turn emails into tasks.

  • Ramble Voice Capture: Speak freely and Ramble converts your words into organised tasks.

  • Projects and Filters: Organise tasks into projects, sections, labels and custom filter views.

  • Calendar Layout: Plan your week with a calendar view and task durations on Pro.

  • Integrations: Connect with Google Calendar, Gmail, Outlook, Slack and other apps.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Fast, clean task capture: Adding tasks is quick on every device.
  • AI included in Pro: No separate AI subscription is required.
  • Works everywhere: Apps for web, mobile, desktop, browsers and smartwatches.
  • Affordable: Pro is inexpensive on annual billing.

Cons

  • Free plan is limited: Only five projects and no AI or calendar layout.
  • Recent price increase: Pro monthly pricing rose sharply in late 2025.
  • Not a full project tool: Lacks Gantt charts and dependencies for complex projects.
