Runway is an AI research company and creative platform founded in New York in 2018. It is one of the pioneers of AI video generation, and its Gen series of models are used by filmmakers, advertisers and content creators.
Users generate video clips from text prompts or images, extend and edit footage, change styles, generate images and use a suite of AI editing tools. Runway also offers access to some third-party models inside its platform, making it a broad creative studio rather than a single model.
As of October 2026, Runway has a Free plan with 125 one-time credits, Standard at $15 a month or $144 a year with 625 monthly credits, Pro at $35 a month, Max at $95 a month, which replaced the former Unlimited plan in 2026, and Enterprise pricing. Credits are consumed per second of video generated.
