About

Figma is a browser-based design platform founded in 2012 and launched publicly in 2016. It became the leading tool for interface design and prototyping, and went public in 2025. Its suite now includes Figma Design, FigJam, Dev Mode, Figma Slides, Figma Sites, Figma Draw, Figma Buzz and Figma Make.

Designers, developers and product teams use Figma to design apps and websites, build design systems, prototype interactions and hand off designs to developers. Figma’s AI features include Figma Make for turning prompts into working prototypes and apps, AI image generation and editing, and tools that rename layers and draft designs.

As of October 2026, Figma has a free Starter plan with limited AI credits, Professional with Full seats at $20 a month ($16 billed annually), and Organization and Enterprise plans billed annually. Each seat includes a monthly AI credit allowance, with 3,000 credits for a Professional Full seat.

Features and integrations

  • Collaborative Design: Multiple people design in the same file in real time in the browser or desktop app.

  • Prototyping: Link screens with interactions and animations to test user flows.

  • Design Systems: Share components, styles and variables across teams through libraries.
