About

Mailchimp is an email marketing and automation platform founded in Atlanta in 2001. It became one of the best-known email tools for small businesses and was acquired by Intuit, the maker of QuickBooks and TurboTax, in 2021.

Businesses use Mailchimp to send newsletters and promotional emails, build automated customer journeys, run SMS campaigns, create landing pages and analyse results. Intuit Assist, its AI layer, generates email copy, subject lines and designs, and helps build campaigns and segments.

As of October 2026, Mailchimp has a Free plan, Essentials from $13 a month, Standard from $20 a month and Premium from about $350 a month, with prices rising as your contact list grows. Generative AI features are included on Standard and Premium.
